PRESS RELEASE | Blackhawk Sees Increased Growth in Aircraft Revitalization Programs
WACO, TX – March 15th, 2017 – Blackhawk Modifications, worldwide leader in performance and PT6A engine upgrades for turboprop aircraft, celebrates the close of their 17th year with 669 total engine upgrades. This number is comprised of 73% King Air series aircraft, 12% Caravan, 9% Conquest, and 6% Cheyenne aircraft.
Blackhawk representatives cite multiple reasons for their continued success. The market for used turboprops is stronger than ever because of the numerous aftermarket STCs that can be used to revitalize them. New engines are a major differentiator in the decision to purchase a brand-new aircraft or refurbish an older one. Blackhawk’s XP engine program produces faster speeds while lowering operating and maintenance costs to a much lower overall price point, which will fuel the value of upgrading well into the future.
Blackhawk’s support from their team, from Pratt & Whitney Canada, and from their global Dealer Network have been keys to their success. Blackhawk currently has 79 authorized dealers worldwide; 49 domestic and 30 international. Stevens Aviation, headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina and operating with facilities in Ohio and Tennessee, led the way in 2016 with the highest number of Blackhawk XP engine sales.
“We have a tremendous amount of trust and a great working relationship with each of our authorized dealers located across the globe,” said Edwin Black, Senior VP of Sales & Marketing for Blackhawk Modifications. “For over a decade, Stevens Aviation has been one of our perineal top dealers for selling, installing and maintaining our XP Engine+ Upgrades. Stevens’ dedication to giving their customers a better product elevated them to the number one selling dealer for Blackhawk in 2016. As the turboprop fleet ages, more owners and operators will continue to find value in refurbishing and modernizing their existing aircraft. We are proud to stand with Stevens as we power our customers forward with new and more efficient engines.”
“Stevens Aviation is excited to be Blackhawk’s #1 dealer for 2016 and have enjoyed a great relationship with them since 2005,” said Phil Stearns, Director of Sales & Marketing for Stevens Aviation. “We pride ourselves on educating our customers on the Blackhawk option, ensuring they have the information they need to make the best decision they can to ultimately fit their flying and financial plans. The Blackhawk modification is a proven and valuable option and we’re proud to be on their team.”
