Day 2: Time Flies
Day two is already winding down, and turnout was even bigger and better than yesterday! Our team can’t believe it’s only been a year since we announced Blackhawk’s certified STC for the XP42A Grand Caravan engine upgrade. Now, 18 revitalized 208Bs are flying all around the world – and there are more to come before the year ends.
A drop in temperature gave some much-needed relief from the heat and humidity, and refreshed attendees were out in full force. The Blackhawk booth was busy and crowded with visitors, including some of our very favorite people — XP Aircraft Owners! We enjoyed spending time with Steve Holmes, who told us about his King Air B200 with the XP52 engine upgrade, as well as Jim Irwin, the owner of Aircraft Spruce. Jim flies a Conquest I that was upgraded with a pair of PT6A-135A engines in 2009. It’s great to reconnect with friends at this storied event — coming to Oshkosh is always a highlight of our summer, and it seems to come more quickly every year. Time really does fly when you’re having fun.
