Blackhawk Delivers Two King Air 200 XP61 Performance Upgrades to Bromma Air Maintenance
GENEVA – May 21, 2014 – Blackhawk Modifications, Inc. (BMI) and Bromma Air Maintenance AB today announced delivery of two XP61 engine upgrade systems to Bromma Air Maintenance for its flight operations fleet of Beechcraft King Air B200s.
Stockholm, Sweden-based Bromma Air Maintenance will lease the Blackhawk-equipped King Air 200s to the Swedish Civil Aviation Authority in support of calibration flights in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Greenland, Lithuania, Spain and Iraq.
“As an authorized Blackhawk distributor, upgrading our fleet was a logical, long-term investment,” said Marcus Lonn, Bromma Air Maintenance AB’s Director of Sales. “We spend thousands of hours performing these calibration flights — and the XP61 upgrade provides a great advantage that will benefit us economically and with improved performance.”
Blackhawk’s XP61 upgrade replaced the stock Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) PT6A-42 turboprop engines on Bromma Air Maintenance’s King Air B200s with two factory-new, PT6A-61 engines, including new-engine warranties from P&WC. No airframe modifications are required for the XP61 upgrade, which has received Supplemental Type Certificate approval from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, European Aviation Safety Agency and Brazil’s Agencia Nacional de Aviacao Civil.
“Blackhawk and Bromma Air Maintenance have a longstanding relationship and commitment to the King Air community in Europe,” said Bobby Patton, Blackhawk’s Director of International Sales. “We are proud to partner with them and know these more capable aircraft will serve them well for many years to come.”
Representatives from Blackhawk and Bromma will be available to speak with members of the business aviation community throughout EBACE (Booth 2237), May 20-22 in Geneva, Switzerland.
